Wyatt Turns ONE!!!

I've been told over and over again that they grow up fast but, really, has it been a year already?? Really?? It seems like just yesterday we were checking into the hospital. Wow. Looking back, it's been a great year (and I've looked back....all 12 months of his life in pictures). We've had some challenges as new parents but the experiences and the precious moments outweigh them all. We love you Wyatt and we are so glad you are part of our lives!! Happy 1st Birthday! Woohooooooo!!!

We had a small celebration at the house on his actual birthday. My mom arrived the day before so it was just us, Uncle Justin, Ramon, and my dear friend Roxanne with her son Joshua.

Playing with his bud, Joshua (they are 2 weeks apart).

I am sure Wyatt is thinking 'Why is everyone staring at me and singing some crazy song?'. Haha. He was a good sport and let us finish our singing. He didn't stick his fingers in the cake like I was expecting...he just stared at it. The frosting on his face was someone else's doing.

We ended up just trying to feed it to him because he wasn't into it. Definitely not our kid!!!!! Mommy and daddy LOVE sweets! LOL.

Uncle Justing trying to let him know it's ok to eat the cake. :) He's still not buying it.

We had a good time celebrating. But it was time for bed...so maybe it was a good thing we didn't get him all loaded up on SUGAR! :)

The big 'roundup' was yesterday at the 'Dudley Ranch'. It was a cowboy theme.

We feel so blessed to have wonderful friends and family that wanted to join in Wyatt's celebration. It was great to see everyone and we are thankful they were able to share in this special moment.

One of Mercedes' friends, Shannon, embroidered these bandanas for the party favors. Wyatt had his own bandana. :) Thanks Shannon! You did a fantastic job!

My friend, Cathy, and her mom made the cake. Thanks ladies! It turned out great!

The birthday banner and gift area. We had loaded the digital frame with the 'best' pictures of his first 12 months of life (which were alot, of course) so we had it going during the party.

It was a full house indeed! And the children had a blast playing with all of Wyatt's toys. Wyatt did great with the 'sharing' part...I think. At least every time I went in the room he was behaving. :)

Time for the cake! Once again, Wyatt did not stick his fingers in it. Are we sure this is our kid??? ;)

Think he's had enough?

With mommy and daddy.

Then we opened presents. Wyatt received many wonderful gifts! Thanks everyone! Brent wanted Wyatt to have his own real instrument so we bought him the ukulele. Good idea babe!

Yes, opening presents can get tiring. :)

Some other random pics from the party...

The boys eating ice cream...and the other boys outside for some reason. It was sooooo hot! What were they thinking?

Wyatt with Titi Meche and my mom with the Hatchells.

The ladies......ok...and some boys :) And then Wyatt with Aunt Lori and Aunt Melinda....I am sure he was happy to get rid of his clothes. ;)

Thank you everyone for coming. We all had a great time!

So today, Wyatt all of a sudden decides it's time. Yep...he's been walking all day...like he's been doing it all his life. He had been cruising and taking steps here and there but today....full on walking. It's amazing how far he's come. Again, STOP growing up so fast, mi amorcito!!!!

We'll get Wyatt's 1 year professional pics done within the next couple of weeks. I hope some good ones come out of it!

Sounds like the party was a lot of fun. He is getting so big and handsome. I love the yukelaleeee (excuse spelling). It seems so appropriate. Keep the pictures. When he is a famous musician you can tell the world that it started with his first you-k-la-lee when he was 1.
